General
Individuals in the film and TV industry in Jamaica
General Membership may be held by any individual or practitioner of 18 years or older who is a Jamaican citizen or resident who works, participates and/or is engaged in the Jamaican film, television and/or audio-visual industry or field. Any General Member of JAFTA in good standing may, among other things, run for and/or be elected to serve on the Board and official posts, and shall be entitled to vote.

Corporate
Organisations in the Jamaican audiovisual sector
Corporate Membership may be held by any entity which is Jamaican owned or controlled and whose primary activity involves working or involvement in the Jamaican film, television and/or audio-visual industry. A Corporate Member in good standing shall be entitled to one vote by its authorized representative.

Full-time students in film and television programs
Students Membership may be held by any individual with an interest in film and television who is enrolled as a full-time student at a Jamaican educational institution or enrolled in an academic programme related to film and television.

Associates
Supporting industry practitioners and individuals
Associates Membership may be held by an individual or entity that is desirous of promoting the objectives of JAFTA and/or who or which provides necessary and valuable services to the film, television and/or audio-visual industry (including without limitation, financial, legal, business, promotional or other like services). Associate members do not have voting status and may not be eligible for all JAFTA initiatives and benefits.

Honorary
Membership may be held by an individual or entity with proven and/or exceptional merit with regard to advancing the interests of JAFTA or that of the Jamaican film and television industry. An Honorary Member is appointed by the Board whether on its own or after considering recommendations of the general membership

Why become a JAFTA member?
We’re building a stronger film and tv community to benefit not just members but to also add structure and advance best practices and initiatives to benefit the film and tv industry on a whole.
Yes, JAFTA membership will allow you to benefit from our various member benefits, JAFTA Health Insurance and developmental initiatives but we also want to have more voices to address industry issues, sharing of knowledge and skills, greater collaborations and exchanges to help practitioners, improve local content and use film and tv for community outreach initiatives in the wider Jamaican community.
Do I have to be a member to attend JAFTA meetings?
Our JAFTA meetings are open all and you do not have to be JAFTA member to attend. We are a film and tv community and welcome others to come, learn and share as well and make industry connections along the way. Our meetings usually have interesting guests, talks, interactions and updates on industry developments and space for airing concerns to see how we can advance positive change.

Our meetings are on the last Thursday of every month at 6:30 p.m. and vary between CARIMAC and UWI Community Film Project Office. Watch out for our emails and/or social media posts for updates.
